ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team at ikeGPS. This role involves developing new software applications for the electric utility industry. You will be responsible for documenting, explaining, and verifying electrical engineering calculations related to circuit analysis, and working closely with our internal software development team and external clients.

ROLE SUMMARY

• Documenting, explaining, and verifying electrical engineering calculations related to circuit analysis (voltage drop, current flow, network impedance, electrical load types, etc.).
• Collaborating with internal team members to scope, develop, test, and implement new products.
• Working with the software development team to develop new software applications.
• Assisting the support team in answering technical questions from clients.
• Creating electrical load profiles from large data sets in collaboration with data scientists.
• Conducting product testing and verification of analysis results.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor of Science degree, or equivalent, in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong foundational knowledge of electrical engineering and multi-phase power systems.
• Experience in computational analysis of electrical circuits.
• Basic knowledge of identifying patterns, trends, and relationships with massive amounts of data.
• 2+ years of experience designing overhead distribution power lines.
• Ability to make decisions based on sound engineering principles.
• Self-motivated, disciplined work ethic.
• Accountability for actions or lack thereof.
• Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills.
• Basic software development skills.
